Review:
We had a few new members join us this week! Our discussions involved review of the list established last week, and definition and delegation of the top three goals that we have and action plans to ensure their completion.
One of the new ideas that came up was an equipment drive to provide equipment for those who would like to try the sport of hockey through house league without the investment. As our travel season comes to a close, we decided that this would be a good time to start asking for donations.
Another new idea was that of an e-mail newsletter sent at least monthly that would update our CAHA families on team standings, players, game schedules, and any CAHA news. We need to communicate internally as well as externally to focus on both new player recruitment and current player retention!
We realize that we need to work closely with Darlene Geiger and the fundraising group – many of our projects will need to be coordinated.
Most importantly, we began delegating responsibility for our top three areas of work. If we all take a small part of each of these areas, the workload will be light, and we will accomplish our goals. We are fortunate to have motivated and talented people that want to help!
The marketing committee’s goals for the next four months are:
- To run a successful equipment drive to encourage new players and families to get “hooked on hockey”
- To participate in/host at least three opportunities for our current and potential players
- To Create and Distribute Flyers and a newsletter
